It’s that time of the year!

A fun-filled Saturday afternoon at the queen city of the South—Cebu. A jam-packed Cebu Coliseum with sports enthusiasts witnessed the kick-off start of the CESAFI 2019 last August 31, 2019.

The grand opening was graced by the presence of the officers, board members, coaches and the people behind this prestigious league. The rites started with the parade of athletes from the different participating schools, and their oath taking of sportsmanship.

Basta Cesafi, estudyante!

Engr. Bernard Nicolas Villamor, president of CESAFI and the Cebu Institute of Technology-University, gave the welcome address, saying that this year’s season 19 is at a whole new level, with live coverages of the different events via various online platforms, organized and powered by CESAFI season 19 student-volunteers.

The welcome address was followed by an inspirational talk by the 9th placer on the 2018 Bar examination and University of San Carlos alumnus, Atty. Jebb Lynus Cane, who shared his own experiences as a student-athlete, encouraging the athletes to always do their best.

Students rock the house.

The showcasing of talents by the students brought the entire coliseum alive, with the dance squads dancing their hearts in support of their respective schools. All 13 squads, however, also performed as a whole, emphasizing the unity and camaraderie of the entire league.
