SWU Cobras aim to advance to semi-finals

The Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras aims to fight their way in to the semi-finals as Season 19 of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) opens this year, after experiencing a dismal finish last year.

Head Coach Mike Reyes says that SWU Cobras will compete with a new style of play. “We will have better ball movements and screens,” he told the CESAFI media bureau.

Evan as most of this season’s core players are from season 18, the head coach has new expectations for the Cobras. With its new and improved basketball facility—the newly renovated Aznar Coliseum launched to the public last May 16—the team now has strength and conditioning areas, with rooms for athletes to rest after training or to recover from injuries.

Cobras are known to be fearless, they possess the quality of defense, and defense is SWU Cobras’ strength. Will they advance to the semi-finals using the qualities of a cobra? Stay tuned to find out.–Swanie Jayne Flores, CESAFI Media Bureau
